Page Builder V2: Top Rec & Rec List Tiles

If you have it enabled, the Page Builder V2 feature allows you to do some things that are not available on the original Page Builder.

Like the original version, Page Builder V2 offers component tiles for Member To-Do List, Member Goal List, and Member Wellness Vision. Page V2 also offers two added components related to the Recommendations System that are not available with V1.

Displaying Recommendations in the Member Portal

Recommendation Rules work in conjunction with the V2 Page Builder to surface personalized content to members.

  1. Top Recommendation displays a single content tile representing the member's highest-weighted recommendation — the content item that has accumulated the most points based on all triggered rules. This is sometimes referred to as the "weighted winner."
  2. Recommendations List displays a full list of all current recommendations for the member, ordered by weight.
  3. Also available exclusively in the V2 Builder is the Primary Focus Selector, which presents the content (courses, challenges, habit builders, flows) that are currently in-progress for the member.

Note that each of these components are automatically functional based on the recommendation rules for the portal and, for the primary selector, the content already begun by the member. There is no need for any configuration in these tiles when building the page.

Common Use-Cases for Recommendation Components

Recommendation Rules and Page Builder components can be combined in a variety of ways depending on your goals:

Onboarding Flow Delivery
A client may create a dedicated recommendations page and heavily weight an onboarding flow for new members. When a new member visits the page, the Top Recommendation tile surfaces the flow, which guides them through a series of questions before delivering them to a course. This is an effective way to ensure new members are immediately directed to a structured starting point.

HAP-Driven Content Discovery
Clients may include the Top Recommendation and Recommendations List components alongside other content on an existing page, allowing the platform's built-in recommendation engine to do the work. Based on each member's HAP results and any configured custom rules, members see personalized content automatically — no additional configuration required beyond placing the components on the page.

Time-Limited Featured Content
Clients can use Effective From and Effective To dates to schedule content recommendations in advance. When the start date arrives, the rule activates automatically and the associated content surfaces in member-facing recommendation tiles — no manual intervention needed.

Example: Spring Fitness Challenge

A client wants all interested portal members to see a "Spring Fitness Challenge" beginning April 1st. Here's how they'd set it up:

  • Rule Name: Spring Fitness Challenge
  • Summary: Promotes the Spring Fitness Challenge to all portal members beginning April 1st
  • Question & Distractor: A previously issued flow contains a question, "Are you interested in seasonal Challenges?" and for those answering "Yes," the rule is applied.
  • Effective From: 04/01/2026
  • Effective To: 06/30/2026
  • Priority: Set high to ensure it appears prominently during the active period
  • Recommendation: Type — Challenge; Content — Spring Fitness Challenge; Weight: 100

When April 1st arrives, the rule activates and the Spring Fitness Challenge automatically appears in the Top Recommendation and Recommendations List tiles for all members who answered "Yes" to the question at any time they've come across it (as long as the question is in the portal's Question Library). When the Effective To date passes, the rule deactivates and the content is removed from recommendations without any manual action.
